Summary:
The primary functions of the CEC are for the purpose/s of planning, scheduling, coordinating, and promoting the community education and recreation programs that utilize the school facilities.
Responsibilities:
Fulfill the role of community collaborator with partner organizations as well as establishing potential new partnerships that serve the community and increase family and community engagement Responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive and dynamic communication strategy for the district and serves as the creative architect for all internal and external marketing and communication initiatives with community members and families Cooperates with district personnel, as appropriate, in publicizing and promoting performances, exhibitions, displays, dedications and/or special programs sponsored by schools and open to the public, and emergency procedures Develop and coordinate community events that use our facilities for recreational and non-recreational purposes.
Lead the district's efforts to support community and alumni groups for fundraising support Maintain quality standards in programming ratios to account for appropriate control on expenses Impress upon all staff that the safety of all participants is a top priority for all programs Ensuring daily tasks and event schedules are carried out Overseeing the Community Education Program Monitor community education and rec facilities conditions and communicate with Building and Grounds Director and Athletic Director regarding any issues Overseeing staff in the Community Education and Recreation Programs Implement Community Education and Recreation facility rules and regulations to community members and staff Oversee and order supplies to maintain quality and safe programs Schedule employees to work as needed Internal collaborator with school leadership, and district office personnel External collaborator with community organizations, local municipalities, and business community Make presentations to various groups regarding district activities Scheduling modifications including media and community notifications related to school closures Collaborate with the District Administrator's office to coordinate district celebrations, events, programs and other special activities Assist the District Administrator's office to promote a customer service mentality across the entire district Serve on a variety of district committees as required.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in recreation administration and/or communications or closely related field Experienced leader who has progressive management history Strong background in community program development and evaluation Proficient written and verbal communication skills Knowledge in managing a budget and creating revenue sources via fundraising and grants for non-profits Personal Attributes Required:
Ability to provide oral and written communication Communicate and collaborate effectively with all levels of municipal staff, officials, neighborhood leaders and the public Relate effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds Develop and write concise, comprehensive, and understandable public information materials Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment Work in a progressive and team-oriented environment Provide excellent service to the community Promote a positive and professional image of the community Elicit community and organizational support for programs Present information and speak effectively before large or small audiences Exercise appropriate level of initiative and judgment to make decisions within the scope of assigned authority Handle sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy while maintaining confidentiality Ability to work a variety of hours dependent on activities Independent worker and self-starter to generate new initiatives Job Type:
