Job Description
Overview:Rotational assignments, each session the co-op will rotate into a different assignment. Each assignment is full time, consisting of working 40 hours per week. In many instances, co-ops will have hands on project testing and test report writing. Co-ops will provide data analysis to support projects and/or operations. They will also support engineers in projects and in the overall growth of RBC businesses and products.
Experience Gained:Co-ops will often be organizing, interpreting and reporting test results, conclusions and recommendations. Requiring them to collect, evaluate and report out data related to various test activities. Co-ops will be working independently but also heavily in teamwork environments allowing them to learn to balance multiple responsibilities. Co-ops will learn an ample amount of mechanical and electrical knowledge of motors and will also have invaluable experience from all aspects of the business.
Skills Developed:Co-ops will develop prioritization and time management skills. Along with those, project management skills will be acquired, based on the vast amount of daily and weekly projects that are distributed. Since co-ops will sometimes be working in a self-directed environment, problem-solving skills will be greatly enhanced. Teamwork skills and communication skills will be improved and developed throughout their stay at RBC.
Training / Coaching:Co-ops will have an opportunity for Lean Six Sigma training and exposure. They will also be given safety training, a basic motors theory training and an effective presentation course. Along with the vast amount of courses offered, co-ops will be working directly with experienced engineers, professionals, scientists, technicians and educational teams on a daily basis.
Required
Qualifications:
Minimum of 30 accumulated credit hours
At least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
Basic knowledge of engineering principles and statistics
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Software
Abiltiy to prioritize and work on multiple projects in parallel
Ability and interest in working with multiple functions (lab technicians, sourcing, field sales, customers, marketing, manufacturing)
Ability to work effectively in a team environment, including a global team located in various geographic sites
Good analytical and problem solving skills
Strong communication skills
Good interpersonal skills

Basic knowledge of motor electrical and mechanical construction and terminology
Well organized
